He has had access to "secrets" so what's to stop him paying Putin or others a visit? 45 is so deplorable I don't think he would blink an eye and veiw as payback for not loving him enuf to reelect or save from Mueller.

What's to stop him from sending Putin secrets right now over back-channels?

He never gave up title in his companies so he's got employees running back and forth to Russia all the time.

Wouldn't even need to use messengers if Putin gave him some code words for his public speeches. Reagan gave coded messages to foreign leaders all the time in his rose garden speeches.

Jail would stop him from traveling and would also restrict visitors. The intel he has in his head won't stay there long or be relevant for long.

As long as FOX news is still on the air, he'll continue to get the same daily intel briefings that he has been getting.

It's been a possibility every since his first top secret briefing. He has already told Russia secrets in the open. We have no idea what he as told them in many private conversations that normally have witnesses. One of the first examples of this was the Russian media photo of Kislyak and Lavrov at the White House.

It is a point that they don't know what to trust, but it's always been that situation when the FSB gets a useful idiot in a position of power.

Sigh. It's important to remember...

If the President decides to give away classified material, it is defacto no longer classified material. He is not subject to those laws because HE decides what is classified. Circular logic, but true.
