Cohen, now with no legal representation, is likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors in New York, sources said. This development, which is believed to be imminent, will likely hit the White House, family members, staffers and counsels hard.

Waiting for the Clinton Foundation / email reference from the Soviet Union operatives. Because that's SO irrelevant.

I agree. So many times I was convinced that Trump was in deep doo-doo and yet he survives and thrives.

I dunno. Any ethical lawyer worth his salt would advise someone with as much dirt on him as Cohen has to cooperate with the gov't and strike a plea deal.

The fact his lawyers are leaving suggests Cohen may not follow this kind of advice and instead hope for a pardon.

I'm enjoying this so much more than I ever thought possible. It must be my old age, not giving much of a rip anymore.

BTW, this little tidbit in the NYT coverage sort of flew past me:

Quote

The dispute between Mr. Cohen and his lawyers involves the payment of his legal bills, part of which are being financed by the Trump family.

Got that?

1) Cohen's lawyers are ditching him (at least in part) because he's not paying his bills.
2) Cohen's legal bills are (at least in part) being paid for by Trump (...or were - maybe he's stiffing Cohen's lawyers too).

Why is the POTUS paying any of the legal bills that his personal lawyer is racking up?

(Rhetorical question, I know, but yet another really unprecedented action by the POTUS).

I guess the lawyers weren’t being paid.
