Why would Trump vouch for Jim Jordan when he has to know he's guilty as heck?

He has to know he's guilty and that the truth will be found out eventually.

Because he’s guilty of similar crimes and wants to minimize the crimes as well as promote his conspiracy theories that everyone is out to get him.

What is it with team doctors and coaches? Does that profession attract the worst types or have we just had so few protections for these young people in the past that they were unusually vulnerable? Probably some of both. Well this wrestling team doctor at Ohio State killed himself before ever facing justice, so it's left to the bystanders and victims to sort it out.

It's not clear that anyone reported abuse to Jordan while he was an assistant coach (the athletes say they never reported it) and it's not clear that he witnessed it either. And nobody is saying he's guilty of abuse himself.

Good that the school is investigating, what a terrible thing for these athletes to endure. It does permanent, lifelong harm.

Similar to how Trump liked the job Pruitt was doing, Trump likes Jordon for being on the offensive for him 24/7.

Distract, distract, distract. It will take a generation to fix things after all the fires are finally put out. Putin is doing a masterful job of manipulating 45 and getting different groups to fight each other.

It's just a coincidence that this emergent university athlete abuse scandal that dates back decades involves a politician. This is hardly a "distraction" if you're one of the people who experienced the abuse. It deserves investigation, and publicity. The publicity gives courage to other victims to come forward, to seek justice and help prevent future victims. It's important. In my opinion this has very little to do with Donald Trump and I don't really give a rat's backside what he and his fans think about it.

Was Jordan himself ever a wrestling coach?

Yes, he was the assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State in the 1990s when this (now deceased) doctor was allegedly abusing team members. The athletes he coached have said they never reported the abuse to Jordon directly , but that he should have known what was going on.

Just like abuse and harassment of women and the Sandusky crimes, the perpetrators were protected. Jordan and others will have to pay the piper.

He's a Republican planning to run for speaker - in the footsteps of Denny Hastert.

"A seventh former Ohio State University wrestler said Saturday that he believes Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) knew about inappropriate behavior that allegedly took place in the school’s athletic department three decades ago, as two more former team members come to his defense."

Trump's main goal is to frustrate and irritate his 'enemies'. He probably knew that people would freak if he supported Jim Jordan and that was enough of a reason for him to do so.
