Don't worry, VoodooPenguin is sending an UBER!

Trump lands in the UK on Thursday. Will there be a government to meet him? His Grand Procession begins Friday The Thirteenth.

Theresa May's Cabinet in crisis as David Davis resigns over Brexit plan
[www.telegraph.co.uk]
heresa May's Government is in deep crisis after David Davis dramatically resigned as Brexit Secretary on Sunday night.

Mr Davis shocked the Prime Minister by telling her he could not support the Brexit plan agreed at Chequers on Friday, prompting speculation that a wave of Cabinet resignations could follow.

Mr Davis had been on the brink of resigning more than once in recent weeks, but soldiered on because he did not want to risk bringing the Prime Minister down.

Other ministers in his department, including Steve Baker and Suella Braverman are said to have agreed a "you go, we go" pact with Mr Davis, suggesting Mrs May could find herself having to replace the entire Brexit department if she can cling on to power.

Friends of Mr Davis said that his decision was "sad but principled" and that he had decided he had to take a stand "in the national interest".

One source said: "This is a principled and honest decision. He has argued against the policy and therefore cannot support it."

Up to half a dozen backbench Tory MPs are said to be preparing to submit letters to the Party expressing a lack of confidence in the Prime Minister after she signed the Cabinet up to a "soft" Brexit plan, which could be enough to force a confidence vote in Mrs May.

Clutching my pearls! When the queen doesn't like someone she invites them to Windsor instead of Buckingham Palace. That's what they say on "The Crown" anyway.

I have a theory (based on nothing) that the UK gov't has realized their voters' horrendous mistake. Rather than admitting that error, they're just going to let the negotiations and plans become a total cluster and then throw up their hands and say they have no choice but to "remain."

The problem with that is all the treaties that will need to be renegotiated to bring them back in.

...Which suddenly sounds very "Trumpish."

Pull out with no plan, let it all go to hell and then have other people work hard to pull something of value from the shreds and claim victory.

Just one more example of the collision of conservative orthodoxy with bitter reality. When you’re the dog, what do you do when you catch the car?

The problem of how to handle the border of Northern Ireland is a just a tiny example, but thoroughly unsolvable, short of building a wall.

But they're just getting around to removing the walls!!

Trump to go ahead with UK visit as planned, White House says

US President Donald Trump is maintaining his planned four-day visit to Britain later this week, the White House says, as Theresa May’s government was plunged into turmoil by two shock cabinet resignations.

“The president continues to look forward to his working visit with the prime minister on July 13, and further strengthening the US-UK special relationship,” Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tells reporters.

May’s government imploded today as Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson followed Brexit minister David Davis, in resigning over the prime minister’s master plan for Britain’s future outside the European Union.

He wants to live in a fantasy land where he's Reagan and she's Thatcher.

And he has big hands.
