Texas both gained and lost some clout yesterday. Beto showed that Texas is more purple than ever and will be a serious battleground state in 2020. "Beautiful Ted" has a different constituency than he thought he did; we'll see how his tune changes.

The Texas GOP lost 6 House committee chairmanships with the change in House leadership. So Texas conservatives will have far less influence over our national agenda, bad for the GOP, good for the environment and social justice.
