I would think they may not be happy.

The producers walked when Drumpf got elected and the folks who subbed had no idea what they were doing. It's pretty much the sorriest most pathetic 4th of July celebration in the country now. The idiots who took over are probably drooling over the chance to change it up, in the vain hope that the change will encourage someone with talent and crowd-appeal to play the show.

Is it the same one that always has Gary Sinese and the Beach Boys? If so, it's already lame. I expect it to get embarrassingly bad. I wonder if PBS will want to drop it. If they do, they'll really be on the chopping block.

They're thrilled to do whatever their boss wants.

The Department of the Interior plans this celebration, and of course that is a cabinet department under Trump. Sec. Bernhardt (oil lobbyist who always sides with business over environmental groups, currently subject of an ethics investigation) is more than happy to be very involved in this party planning because heaven knows there is nothing more important going on with the "Interior."

Bernhardt is more than happy to make this anything that helps the President get re-elected, that's what his oil company constituents want. If 45 does turn this into a campaign rally and PBS airs it, they're violating campaign finance laws and Trump 2020 will need to reimburse the Treasury for the cost of the event. Well that would be true if we were a nation that held our President accountable. And of course we're not.
