Not paid for anytime soon. But please keep voting for us. Seems it’ll be up to a Democrat to fix a future deficit. Again.

They don't care - they know that the next step in their plan is huge slashes to government programs they think don't benefit them.

Well, IIRC, there was not enough money recently for detained immigrant children to do anything other than sit in their cages. So, you know, times are tight. We they just need to tighten their belts (y’know, if they had belts).

Showing that tax cuts will pay for themselves is the PR move to justify the tax cuts for those few Republicans who have tender consciences about deficits. (I know a lot of economists, and not one believed they would accomplish this.) The second move, sure to follow, is, as rjmacs implies, to be alarmists when a democrat can be blamed for the deficit. First as tragedy, then as farce....

"Tax cuts" are a dog whistle for social regressions. It can't be about "putting money back in the hands of individuals" because it functionally doesn't happen. People point to the refunds they got and ignore the massively higher gifts corporations and the rich get by comparison.

Guppies, every last one.
