Note that the net change since the tax cuts hit, the last 18 months, is near zero. Tariffs, fed rate changes, a very mature market, saber-rattling at Iran, a budget stand off (or was it two?) are also all factors. What is not a factor? Trump's claim that his mere presence brings unicorns and rainbows to the market.

Trump’s complete and incoherent unpredictability drives the markets ( meerkats ?) bananas.

But it actually does to some extent. It's not that in reality Trump is actually worth censored smiley. But he has benefited from optimism--misplaced as it is--that because he is a "successful" business man and wants to eliminate regulations that he is good for the economy. I think that has had a significant effect. Of course, anyone who isn't an idiot knows better, but there are a lot of idiots out there.

Pres. Obama’s trend line benefited from a market in collapse before he was inaugurated and this collapse continued for several months after. We are in the longest continuous economic expansion in history.

Some would argue that Bush f-ed up everything so badly, that the economy, jobs, etc. had no where to go but up.

When you start from the bottom, there is nowhere to go but up. Trumps market gains are on top of 8 years of gains and...
