I read recently that -mo-ses means the son of, so for instance, ra-mo/me-ses means the son of the sun god Ra. Since there is no prefix to mo-ses in the case of Moses, he was the son of...no one. (Found among the rushes, it’s said)

And, with the Egyptians of the time being pretty good historians and/or record keepers, apparently there isn’t a lot of solid historical evidence for Moses, or for the seven plagues of Egypt, etc.
