Trump ordered to pay $2M in settlement over Trump Foundation lawsuit
[thehill.com]

President Trump has been ordered to pay $2 million to nonprofit groups as part of a settlement in a lawsuit alleging he used the his charity’s funds for personal and political means.

The New York Supreme Court ordered Trump pay $2 million in damages as part of a settlement stemming from a June 2018 lawsuit filed by the state attorney general’s office against Trump, his three eldest children and the Trump Foundation that alleged violations of campaign finance law.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Saliann Scarpulla ruled that more than $2.8 million raised by the Trump Foundation has been used for Trump’s campaign and staff rather than the charity itself, CNBC reported. The judge ruled that Trump breached his fiduciary duty and ordered him to pay a fine of $2 million.

New York Attorney General Letitia James lauded the order on Thursday, calling it a “major victory” in the office’s efforts “to protect charitable assets and hold accountable those who would abuse charities for personal gain.”

The New York attorney general’s office also said that it had entered into stipulations with the Trump Foundation to resolve outstanding claims in the lawsuit.

“The Trump Foundation has shut down, funds that were illegally misused are being restored, the president will be subject to ongoing supervision by my office, and the Trump children had to undergo compulsory training to ensure this type of illegal activity never takes place again,” James said in a statement.

All tax deductible, as we will learn eventually when we see his taxes. We will also see the deductions for "expediters" and "Office supplies" that hide bribes, as well as all the money laundering. Mob bosses gotta mob.

Trump said he would give divided up to charities..we have heard that before.

I heard 2mill to a charity. He got some bennies from the judge but she indicated the charities the money was to go to. One Holocaust and another negro fund.

The Trump Foundation's biggest donation was to refurbish a fountain outside his own hotel
The biggest ever donation made by Donald Trump’s charitable foundation was a $264,631 gift paid for the refurbishment of a New York fountain outside one of the billionaire businessman's own hotels, it has been reported.

The claims come amid allegations he hasn't donated any money to the charity since 2008.

The fee, which is thought to be the largest ever paid by the Donald J. Trump Foundation in its 29-year history, was used to renovate the monument outside the Plaza Hotel on the edge of Central Park, New York, according to the Washington Post.

Just to keep things in realistic perspective; $2 million is chump change for the ultra wealthy.
Their portfolios fluctuate more than that in less than a day.

$2MM is a mere 0.05% of Trump's $4BB fortune.

I mean *claimed* fortune.
