12 Saudis expelled from Naval Air program: accused of extremist links or having kiddie porn

Any stashes of bonesaw blades found?

About a dozen Saudi nationals receiving military training in the U.S. are expected to be expelled in the wake of a Pentagon review of a Saudi officer who opened fire last month at a naval base in Pensacola, Fla., a U.S. official familiar with the investigation confirms to NPR.

The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation, said some of the dozen Saudis failed to alert authorities about the Pensacola shooter's warning signs, including that he allegedly showed videos of other mass shootings at cadet dinner parties.

Federal authorities linked some of the Saudi trainees to extremist rhetoric online, the official said.

It is not clear when exactly the students will be kicked out of the country, but federal officials are planning to announce the decision in the coming days.

In December, a Saudi aviation student opened fire in a classroom of the naval base, leaving three young sailors dead and wounding eight others.

"I think we're being very careful. Obviously, Pensacola showed that there had been errors in the way that we vetted, and out of an abundance of caution Secretary Esper has taken these actions to protect our service men and women," O'Brien said.

“Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million,” Trump said during a presidential campaign rally in Alabama in August 2015. “Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.”
At another rally that year, Trump said of the Saudis, “I make a lot of money from them.” “They buy all sorts of my stuff. All kinds of toys from Trump. They pay me millions and hundred of millions.”

Unfortunately we’ve got to tread a fine line with the Saudis since we’re beholden to their oil. Similarly they have to go the same with the extremest elements in their country, lest they should lose power. The majority of them are fine, it’s just the radicals that spoil the whole bunch. Overall situation is a shame really, as something should be done about it, but can’t seem to be.

Yup, instead we chose to invade Iraq, and in the process incur a 20%-30% increase to our national debt (yes debt not budget deficit), and even worse, the deaths of several thousand American soldiers, hundreds(?) of thousands of Iraqi civilians, and many more maimed for life. The whole lot should’ve been prosecuted for high crimes.

Instead of prosecution, voters sent the daughter of the Vice President from Halliburton to Congress.

Need a little more background, this is a country where 13 year old girls are sold into marriages so they might just be pictures of their wives. If it's pictures of 13 year old boys, they might get in more trouble when they get back home.

I would have expected daughters of Halliburton execs were already on the stripper pole fast track.

Plenty of space to expand King Khalid military city...let them get trained over there.

We can send instructors...outfitted with plate carriers & collecting combat pay...

The vast majority of them are okay. Makes no sense to set up a duplicate program due to a few bad apples. Lots of Americans go postal at military training sites too.
