Romney vs. Trump?

Just spit balling here, but what if Romney decided to challenge tRump for the Republican nomination?

Republicans get a standard bearer who supports most of (all?) their main agendas, but isn’t the loose canon that tRump is.

Cheers for Mitt Romney in New Hampshire.
HOOKSETT, N.H. — Eight years and a month after Mitt Romney won a commanding victory in New Hampshire’s Republican primary, voters in the state are cheering for him again — at Democratic campaign events.”

Not a chance. he would get eviscerated.

he'd have to run as an independent, because he'd never get on the Republican ballot. he'd probably not get on the ballot as an Independent, either.

He's going to be very lonely for a long time. The Dems do not like his social values, and the GOP will try to toss him out as soon as they can.

Trump is not gonna let this slide - he's going to do everything he can to harm Romney. I would not be at all surprised to find that he doesn't finish this term.

It would have been huge if some big name politician had gone after 45 for the nomination. That's the best way to invlict fatal campaign wounds.

I think some thought about it. For a second. Like Jeff Flake, or Paul Ryan. But there's no way they'd get past the Republican National Committee to get on ballots. Look at what's happening to Weld.

Sure, and the dark horse candidate for the Dems can be Dick Gephardt. It's like a retro party!

I heard a comment about Romney as a write-in candidate in the New Hampshire primary. Would be great if he got lots of votes. grinning smiley
