good comment:
"Barr's problem with Trump's tweets is that it makes Barr's corrupt actions to cover up for Trump's crimes impossible to deny."

Barr wants to do Trump's bidding without press commentary and doesn't want Trump making it public knowledge. Boo hoo.

So is he saying, that what 45 is doing is like extortion or bribery to him, and is resulting in obstruction of justice? They must have been "perfect tweets".

Wait, we're missing the joke. Its on ABC news he'll never see it.

If he wanted the pres to see it he'd put it on fox and friends.

So, when will Barr be replaced for not being loyal enough, so that Attorney General Rudy Giuliani can take over. Although he "might" need to recuse himself from a few things.

As pointed out by Aaron Blake of the WaPo, the most significant part of this Kabuki theater is that Barr appears to have admitted it was his personal intervention in the Stone case:

Quote

Barr said he told his staff that night that the Justice Department has to amend its [sentencing] recommendation.

Why would he personally intervene in a case like this? He doesn't explain. But enquiring minds want to know!

(Maybe Congress can ask him.)

Some are suggesting that Barr’s statement is political theater designed to take the heat off of him for being such a toady in the first place.

I think it's fake, to give the appearance that he isn't doing Trump's bidding. The fact that 45's twitter feed hasn't erupted with denials and outrage seems to confirm that.

Today:

Trump says on Twitter he has right to interfere in criminal cases

Of course he does. Article 2 gives him the right to do anything he wants.

Honestly, I wonder if this kind of thing isn’t putting a wee bit of doubt in reasonable Republican’s minds.
