Fighting back as the Trump lies continue to come thick and fast. The same office which recommended Roger Stone's sentencing before the prosecutors quit.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department is closing its criminal investigation into whether former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe lied to investigators about his communications with the media, without bringing any charges against him, his attorneys said in a statement on Friday.

In a letter his lawyers also released from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Washington, prosecutors said that “based on the totality of the circumstances and all of the information known to the government at this time, we consider the matter closed.”

The extraordinary announcement comes just days after prosecutors from the same office that investigated McCabe withdrew in protest from another case against U.S. President Donald Trump’s political ally Roger Stone, after senior Justice Department officials abruptly intervened to scale back their sentencing recommendations to the judge.

The White House declined to comment.

a reminder: This was part of the overall excuse Trump used for axing McCabe

McCabe was fired from the FBI by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, after DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz provided a recommendation to an internal FBI office that said McCabe was not forthcoming during interviews with federal investigators and that he "lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions."

There's still time for President Righteous to call up Deputy Billy-Boy and have the case 'reviewed.'

The WaPo has conservative columnists too, if for no other reason to make clear the warped way they view the world.

Hugh Hewitt’s column today is titled “ William Barr has a client he can’t live with and can’t live without”

Got that? The POTUS (and yeah, that’s who he’s talking about) is Attorney General Barr’s client. Presumably his only one.

Unbelievable. They’re not even pretending any more.
