While speaking with community leaders at Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, Delaware on Monday, Joe Biden suggested that the police could decrease the number of fatal shootings at the hands of officers by having them aim for a person's leg, instead of their heart.

He'd better find a STRONG VP as his running mate.

He's being a politician.

He's being an addled old man, he'd best step back shut up and let Trump do the hard lifting.

It's still the thing to say. Whether we like his voice or not, he has to communicate. He already said this, which is pretty badass:

Biden says he would not pardon Trump or block investigations
By BILL BARROW The Associated Press,Updated May 15, 2020, 5:33 a.m.

ATLANTA — Democratic candidate Joe Biden said that if he wins the presidency he would not use his power to pardon Donald Trump or stop any investigations of Trump and his associates.

“It is not something the president is entitled to do, to direct a prosecution or decide to drop a case,” Biden said Thursday on MSNBC. “It's a dereliction of duty.”

The former vice president made his statement in response to a voter who asked him on Lawrence O'Donnell's show, “The Last Word,” whether he would “commit to not pulling a Gerald Ford in giving Donald Trump a pardon under the pretense of healing the nation.”

Biden responded, “I commit,” before offering a more lengthy explanation of his view that the president must allow the Justice Department to operate without interference.

Ford became president in 1974 when Richard Nixon resigned under the threat of impeachment. Ford later pardoned his predecessor before any criminal charges related to the Watergate burglary could be filed. Ford went on to lose the 1976 presidential election.

Badass my ass. Time may come when he'll have to step back and let Bernie or someone else pick up the torch. At this point in time I hope that doesn't happen but best be prepared for all contingencies.

No, he isn't a socialist. But whatareyagonnado? Socialists lose. He's actually trying to win.

He acknowledged police are killing unarmed, or far lesser-armed people. And with that, I have “no problem figuring out” how he differs from Trump.

Next.

I don’t see “kinder and gentler” anywhere in the linked piece.

Here's the difference:

Joe will open his mouth and insert his foot; he's done this numerous times in the past, and is likely to do it numerous times in the future, so you know what to expect.

Trump will open his mouth and exhale putrid fumes and verbal diarrhea of a kind so foul and vile that it literally suffocates and indeed kills many of us; he's done this numerous times in the past, and is likely to do it numerous times in the future, so you know what to expect.

Which of these two would you rather have?

I have no issue with tough, firm and fair, as long as it is evenly applied. That's how my uncle operated. There was always place for compassion, and a time for swift and tough action.

It all must come from a place of a decent human interacting with another human who may not be decent, but is treated as such until they show otherwise.

The police have no duty to respond. See Castle Rock v. Gonzales, 545 U.S. 748 (2005) or Warren v. District of Columbia[1] (444 A.2d. 1, D.C. Ct. of Ap. 1981)

Just get behind the candidate that opposes Trump. All your friends and family see what you do and how you do it. If you're lukewarm, they're lukewarm. If you're enthusiastic, they're enthusiastic. That's how winning works.

I don't see how Donald Trump is deserving of any kind of energy that isn't 100% committed to removing his racist, bigoted ass.

We’ll be saying it from [yesterday] until [forever] but the goal isn’t to find a perfect candidate, just the best one, all things considered.

So yes, context ALWAYS matters.
