Isn't that why they keep shoveling free money at the banking and business sectors? To keep the lie alive?

It'll turn full-on bear as soon as Biden is in office. Just wait.

You are 100% correct.

Since Trump has been in office, the stock market has always been higher than it should be just from (irrational) optimism. "Trump is a businessman."

That's in addition to his obvious efforts to prop up the stock market (corporate tax cuts).

Lots of cheap money out there. The Fed won’t change that with a Pres. Biden because they fear deflation more than almost anything else. It’s nice to have the world’s reserve currency to manipulate, no other country can do it.

Isn't there a real question about how long the dollar will be the reserve currency?

Yes, it depends on China. The Euro isn’t pushing the dollar out. But China could depending on how big its economy becomes in the next 30-40 years. Its Belt and Road initiative will further this along, especially since Trump has done nothing to enhance the USA foot-print. Ending the TPP was idiotic.

Was it idiotic?

I remember a lot of left-leaning media outlets like Democracy Now blasting the TPP and saying that it needed to die, because average American workers would be harmed by it. Much like what NAFTA did to the US worker.

True. But in the long term, the TPP was to the benefit of the USA. Now China accrues the benefits.

TPP needed to be redone, not abandoned. As Speedy mentioned, abandoning it has helped China much more that it would have hurt the US if it had been approved.
