please be aware that you should always be a bit suspicious of what Reuters chooses to be its 'featured' pictures. Double check against the rest of the news.

But can't you see - the Black guy on the right is pointing his rifle...err...paintball gun...err... camera with external mic directly at her!!! Imagine how terrified Karen must be!!

Seriously, though - I'm pretty sure that photo documents a crime. You can't generally point a firearm at someone unless you're legally entitled to fire it.

TBH, guy looks like he could use at least a couple doses of Pepto...

I sat in a jury for a guy accused of 'brandishing a weapon in a threatening manner' - he was convicted.

But these folks are white and moneyed, so forget about any charges.

Yes it was very dangerous and provocative (to say the least) for that couple to point their guns at protesters, however the couple is protected by Missouri's Castle Doctrine law and did not do anything illegal. They are permitted to use deadly force to protect their property.

‘As long as one is in a location authorized to be in, whether it be a home or a public place, one now has the right to defend themselves with a firearm without retreating first, as long as he or she reasonably feels their life is being threatened with deadly force.

"You used to have a duty to retreat,” said John Picerno, a criminal defense attorney in Kansas City.’

“ their life is being threatened with deadly force “

Sure looks like that in the pictures.

EDIT:

Private street, apparently, so the authorized location thing wouldn’t apply.

Initially I didn't notice the guy behind the hedge with his rifle. My focus was drawn to the woman and the two protestes

Not that it matters, but I bet they are Republicans.

Someone tried to fool people into thinking these folks contributed to ActBlue, but they got busted (snopes).

As expected, they made most of their donations to Trump and Republicans.
