Is it me, or are there more racial slurring incidents?

Not just Blacks in restaurants, parks, streets, etc but Asians all documented via iPhones and on TV. Am I imagining or are these incidents being recorded more. Even police I believe have been murdered. That terrible lynching posted here ......other senseless deaths.

I'm not sure there are more rather they are just being called out now. Previously people were turning a deaf ear to it.

Yup. Now they really get noticed, witnessed and documented.

What's so hard about treating everyone decently?

You would have to think of others that do not look like you to be human.

I am realizing how many others around me that do not think like I do.

Both, I think. Trump is encouraging division and hate with his rhetoric, and some are embracing that.

It has always gone on, but yeah people are now paying attention. Plus, and this for me is an outsize factor: Trump and his ilk have blown his dog whistle signaling it's okay for racist scumbags and bigots to slither from sewers all over the nation and get even more aggressive than usual. There have also been many more documented incidents overseas...France, UK, etc.

And they've expanded from racial slurs to include general jerkery to anyone "different" including LGBTQs, and anyone else who basically doesn't look or act like their jerk selves. And anyone who calls them out on their jerkery. Like the guy in the Costco video yelling at the elderly woman from this week.

We've even seen more brazen, aggressive driving behavior toward [vulnerable road users—] people walking in the street and riding bicycles in KC here as well the past several months. I've experienced it myself and have several friends who have. No, I'm not saying it is even in the same universe as racism and the violence therein but feeling like your life is threatened by two tons of vehicle when you are defenseless is not a good feeling.

Trump has made being a reprehensible, disgusting person A-OK. He and he alone has set the nation back in whatever middling progress we've made the past 50 or 100 years in every facet of civility. It's pure savagery. I wonder what will happen if he loses the election. I'm very concerned he won't easily leave and that there will be bloodshed in the streets.

As difficult as it may become if loses, it'll be that and a factor if he wins. This permission to bully is not a USA exclusive it's a worldwide occurrence and directly tied to nationalist/populist movements of any stripe.

The nationalist/populist movement is not just in the USA or limited to Trump. It is worldwide and can be seen on every continent to some extent

This is not unexpected as historically the movement rises in popularity every few decades.

Populist and Nationalist periods in the USA:
1850s - Know Nothings
1870s - Greenbacks
1900 - Populist Party
1920-30's - Huey Long
1960's - Dixiecrats
2000's - Tea Party
2015 - Trump

I'd say Trump is an extension or final result of the TEA party phenomenon.
