Trump ad about Biden and the police

I have been seeing this TV ad running lately that pretends to show the future and talks about how the police are not available because they have been defunded and your wait time is five days.

The problem is Biden said he does NOT support defunding the police. The Trump ad implies otherwise. How do they get around this obvious lie? By showing in the fine print that Biden supporters want to defund the police.

It's just more FUD from a pathetically losering, losing, loser, biglyest loser that ever was a loser, ever.

It is a political ad - truth or facts have no bearing. Expect it to get worse.

I'm looking forward to the usual "Letter from the Future" from evangelical leaders telling us the once the "godless democrats" took control, abortions became mandatory and Christians were rounded up and taken off to re-education camps. After they took all the guns away, of course.

They’ve been running that ad in Minnesota pretty frequently.

Which is good. It’s wasted money.

The "defunding the police" movement picked a poor name. In reality it's about "Right sizing" the police... increasing funding for social services and mental health support while demilitarizing the police and the aggressiveness training they have been getting.

In many areas police are an occupying force instead of a community service. And the police act that way... control and suppression rather than help.

With all the gerrymandering, massive lying, and insane propaganda via radio broadcasts, the Republican party seems to find democracy to be in the way.

Maybe they prefer the new Russian model. Putin found elections to be a nuisance and did something about it - he changed the Russian Constitution.

agree smiley

Realignment, reconfigure, restructure, reassess, reapportion etc. all would have been much wiser descriptions.

I think what you say about “right sizing” is true. But I think folks were rightly p’o’ed that this just keeps happening over and over and over, and they said “how can we get their attention? Anything is better than this status quo”.

And it got our attention.

There were a few people who wanted the police to be abolished. Not many but a few. Of course there are always people on the extreme end of things.

But anyone who is rational knows what the movement, despite its poor choice of names, is about.

No they don't. Like you said people on the extremes do, people in the middle only hear catch phrases and that's a terrible catch phrase.

(they apparently didn't utilize their access to a control study group before the launch)
