My Covid antibody test was negative

I thought I had a 20-30% chance of having had it in early/mid March.

Nope.

My doctor ordered a bunch of blood tests prior to an upcoming checkup so I had them do the antibody test since they were already poking a hole in me.

It may have worn off? I’m hearing that immunity may only be a couple of months.

Its not certain.

I donated plasma and they tested for antibodies and it came back negative. I'd say that it means you're less likely to have been exposed but it doesn't entirely rule it out.

They don't know yet. Still waiting to see how many people get it twice.

...Antibody tests are not great at showing whether you've had the disease.

Antibodies don't stick around in the blood forever. You could have had it a couple of months ago and still be immune. Your lymph may be hiding killer white blood cells and yet you'd test negative.

But then, the false-positive rate is pretty high. Even if you test positive, it doesn't mean that you've had the disease or have any immunity to it.

So, relying on the results of an antibody test is probably not the greatest idea.
