Players on the SEC call, who were part of a “student-athlete leadership council,” raised similar concerns, with one player asking: “For so much unknown in the air right now, is it worth having a football season without certainty?”

Sankey, who earned a $2.5 million salary in 2018, responded: “Part of our work is to bring as much certainty in the midst of this really strange time as we can so you can play football in the most healthy way possible, with the understanding there aren’t any guarantees in life."

See how that works? We’re here to provide certainty, except there can be none. We want you to think that’s OK. The rest of the article goes on with more of the same. Punted questions and the expectation that the business games must proceed.

And that’s exactly what many players will do, by skipping a year to preserve eligibility later. smiling smiley

I love my college football, but this isn't worth it.

There are guarantees:

1) College football is big money
2) No football = no money
3) Players will make no money

In the college case it will be unpaid players dying for the financial benefit of the institution and the coach's 7 (in some cases 8) figure salary.

Sorry, didn't see your comment before starting a new thread on this...I'm really glad to see this latest move in the long struggle for college athletes to stand up for themselves and end the abusive treatment that has characterized some D1 programs.
