Donors to the Wisconsin Democrats will receive invitations to a livestream on September 13 at 7 pm ET for a script read of William Goldman's 1987 cult classic. The star-studded cast, including Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Carol Kane, Chris Sarandon, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn, Billy Crystal and director Rob Reiner have agreed to join the virtual table read...

"Anything you donate will be used to ensure that Trump loses Wisconsin, and thereby the White House," the donation page says.

The event sent Cruz's torture machine to 50. In a tweet Saturday, Cruz called The Princess Bride "perfect" and said he wishes it would stay out of "Hollywood politics."

... Elwes, who played the movie's hero, Westley, responded that Cruz should "leave the fire swamp."

Republicans are pretty good at vocally lamenting American participation in American politics.

Unless your name rhymes with Clint Eastwood, James Woods, or Chachi Arcola.

Or Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger...

Wish they were as vocal about Russian participation.

We actually were able to get into the stream and a few technical glitches aside (most often with actors not unmuting or sound coming in delayed) it was wonderful... that every member of the cast still living with I think the exception of Fred Savage (who says it wasn't political but he was celebrating his brother's birthday) wanted to participate was nice. The performances by Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon and Wallace Shawn were all a delight. Then there was Cary Elwes coy donning of a mask just before being asked the question* by Fezzik "Why do you wear a mask?" and answering "I think they're incredibly comfortable, I think everyone will be wearing them in the future."

If only that was all it took to be Dread Pirate Roberts.

Here's hoping this is enough to put WI firmly in the blue column.

*I might not have the quote precisely correct... it's not one of the historically memorable lines like "No more rhymes now I mean it..." "Anybody want a peanut" which was, sadly lost due to Josh Gad being unable to get his mic unmuted while using AirPods.
