Red Sea ferry survivors say captain fled
Reuters, by Tom Perry

Safaga, Egypt - Survivors of the Red Sea ferry disaster said
its captain fled the burning ship by lifeboat and abandoned
them to their fate, as hopes faded on Saturday of finding some
800 missing. Some passengers ... said crew had told them not
to worry about a fire below deck and even ordered them to
take off lifejackets.

Kind of reminds me of a certain senator from Massachusetts.

They were still within sight of the Saudi coast when the fire broke out, yet he continued towards Egypt. Maybe he had a hot date waiting. Maybe he'll be tried in S.A. where they still do public scimitar executions.

Is there any eason for that, refurb?

I try to stay out of the worst of all this stuff, but I just can't see any sense in that post with 1000+ people dead.

I won't do a dialogue about this.

OK, Pops, why do you think he didn't turn back? How did my post offend you more than the Kennedy joke? Must have woken up on the wrong side of the mat at the seminary, eh?

Was the Captain's name Kennedy by any chance ????

The captain will probably show up somewhere wearing a white
neck brace to elicit a little sympathy, like a certain senator
from Taxachusetts. Oh, yes--I am old enough to remember the
Swimmer's little fashion accessory, when he had to appear in
public after the murder of Mary Jo.

Sort of like Bush parading around in military uniform and playing pilot while others ahead of him in line went to Vietnam at his daddy's insistence on "fighting godless communism." Scum rises to the top, whether the vat is filled with Demos or Repubs.

It's too bad you don't understand my persuasion. I don't hold that against you; we likely share a cynicism and more that a few politicial views.

I still think the post was unnecessarily insensitive. If we disagree, let's leave it there, please. Thanks.

What did you take offense at, Pops? My disgust for this captain or my wish that he pay the price for abandoning those who entrusted their lives to him?

Has any valid news source reported this?

I am uncomfortable about commenting on anything that is produced by Reuters.

I won't say I know for sure what Pops was thinking but your first sentence refurb stated a point that we would certainly like to be clarified in any enquiry, no problem with that. However your second sentence was a flippant throwaway remark that in some situations could have been amusing but when we are talking about the recent death of almost 1000 people might be perceived as insensitive. When I read it my first thought was that you were trying to get a reaction from people and you did from Pops and now you have from me. Looks like you succeeded in your quest. On the other hand maybe you didn't realise that some would take offence at your remark. If that is the case do you find that people you talk to often seem to get upset?

You are right to be wary of these reports. Here in the UK immediately after the bombs in London last summer there were some reports of the bus driver legging it away from the scene. Surprise, surprise once the truth came out we find that in fact the driver was a hero who despite his own problems did everything he possibly could to help the passengers that had been caught up in the explosion on his bus.

I've been doing everything I can to stop the senseless murder of innocent civilians the U.S. has been committing for many years, watched as it turned a cold shoulder to its own citizens drowning in New Orleans, so 1,000 deaths is just another statistic to me. I meant no disrespect to the victims or their families, only to the captain who was reported to have refused to turn back to shore when he could have. I'd like nothing more than to hear that the report is wrong.

So you're the one that's been eating my brains. I knew I was having memory problems but I thought it was just age related.

Sign of progress?
Good beginning.
First step in dealing with your thought problems is recognizing you are having a problem...

If you've got a problem with my perceptions correct them, Max, don't just bad mouth me. That contributes nothing to this forum but fomenting bad feelings.

It is impossible to correct perceptions seen through Worldwide Jewish Masonic Illuminati Conspiracy filter.
Describing your perceptions accurately does not define bad mouthing.
Sort of neutral mouth, maybe.....

Surely, junk bombing this forum, by you, must be the essence of contribution....

The pictures I posted show some of the 30,000 victims of Bush's war that he admits to having killed unnecessarily. They were intended to put the 1,000 lives lost on the ferry, as tragic as that loss is, in perspective. The depleted uranium we've spewn all over the country will continue to kill and maim for thousands of years. Genocide was our intent, to depopulate the area of the natives who might object to our theft of their resources.

Lets see, this stated as a thread about unfortunate victims of civilian transportation.
You injected some alleged victims in Iraq, which had nothing to do with this thread.

> victims of Bush's war that he admits to having

You injected and blamed Bush who had nothing to do with the ferry, the Red Sea or anything even remote with this tragedy.

> killed unnecessarily. They were intended to put

Unless the uranium was on the ferry and somehow unbalanced it, causing it to sink, there is, gain, no connection to this thread.

> kill and maim for thousands of years. Genocide was

Unless you are equating a 1000 deaths to genocide, there is no connection to the ferry accident, either.

> our intent, to depopulate the area of the natives
> who might object to our theft of their resources.

How does alleged theft of anything connects to this accident is beyond anybody's guess.
The only possible connection might be, that somebody stole your mind, and you have been semi functional without it, posting brainlessly on this board for the last several months....

Pops criticized me for insensitivity, and I just explained why, in perspective, 1,000 deaths is not that remarkable a tragedy, except of course for the victims families. I mourn any person's death. My point was that a lot more people are mourning because of Bush's actions than because of this captain's. Refute my statements but keep your insults to yourself.

You have failed to make any relevant points.
If the accurate description of your posts, insults you; tough.
Truth hurts.

Some continuing education in logical thinking and critical analysis might be useful, otherwise your posts are just cut and paste junk.
Just because some other refurb Loki posted the same garbage on the internet, linking to it does not make it pearls of wisdom.
I am trying to help you by pointing out the deficiencies in your logic, or to be more accurate, your lack of logic and dearth of facts in your claims.....
