Well, they still love him in Fla

However, there is that whole branding problem. Hence this quote:

"Let me give him some free advice," Paul Begala, a CNN contributor, said. "Change your name. Run as John Ellis not John Ellis Bush. The Bush brand is probably what croaked Mel Martinez."

He's the "smart one".

Which brings to mind the old line about winning the gold medal at the Special Olympics.

IMO Jeb was a great Governor and he'd win a Senate spot easily.

Kind of like saying you're the tallest person at a midget convention.

Of course, there's this whole thing about how Jeb wants the GOP to organize what he ominously calls a "shadow government":

Other than sounding ominous, what's so bad about a shadow government? Shadow governments are common practice by minority political parties in Britain.

Wikipedia
In parliamentary governments, the largest opposition party often refers to itself as a shadow government in which top leaders of the opposition are prepared to assume certain ministries should their party come to power in an election. For example, in Britain the largest opposition party's Defence spokesman might refer to themselves as the Shadow Defence Secretary. Smaller parties have spokespeople too, but these do not generally use shadow names.

It says he has opinion of someone that you don't share. That is All.

Doesn't Britain use the parliamentary system where the government can change on a not-regularly-scheduled switchover that can happen at any time? I'm not sure if that is Jebb's plan.

Oh, man, if we could have had a vote of no confidence, one can only ponder the possibilities...so many presidents to choose from...

One could safely assume that the Office of the President Elect has constituted itself as a 'shadow government'. They seem to be happily communicating 'policy' before they legally have the ability to make policy. It's kind of off-pissing.

The @#$%& was so "smart" over the Terri Schiavo case, wasn't he.

However, compare him to his brother ..... come to think of it, compare anyone to his brother ...... Oh, never-mind.

Is it off-pissing? Personally, I think Obama and his embryonic administration are doing
what any good and responsible embryo should do during these weird times-- letting everyone
know it is developing free of malformation, kicking to let our anxious nation know it's alive
and well and getting ready for the big day when it will be born, ready to walk, talk, carry burdens
and drive on the first day. This contrasts with the birth-certificate skeptics and litigants, who
are trying to perform a late-term abortion on the nascent Obama administration, stabbing at
it with whatever bent wire coat hangers they have in their closets.

What would you have them do? The present guy threw in the towel just about the time Fanny and Freddy croaked and has since been hiding in a corner waiting to go home.

Having a president-elect offering solutions-to-come is a damn site better than letting people feel that we are plummeting off a cliff in a driver-less bus, which is certainly the impression the current administration has given.

Speaking as a conservative Floridian, Jeb is a jerk.

1. Terry Schiavo case - He had no right to interject government into a private (and sad) family matter. Schiavo's parents had a loud mouth, squeaky wheel lawyer that kept pushing the case beyond lower court decisions that favored the husband.

2. Education: Jeb Bush did more to destroy the Florida university system than you can imagine. He and his Republican band of brothers in the FL legislature, disbanded the Florida Board of Regents who fairly controlled tuition, research funding and other matters. The people of Florida overwhelmingly voted a Constitutional referendum to re-establish the BoR. Against the will of the people Jeb tried to disband the board again and pushed the legislature to weaken the new structure so that it is a shadow of its former self.

3. Prior to his election the Legislature set aside a pristine area as an envrionmental conserve. The land lies along a vital tributary. Good ole Jeb, along with his Big business cronies, managed to undo the set aside and award the land to a mega huge cement factory that is now pouring tons of toxic runoff into the Ichetucknee River.

3. One of the first executive orders Jeb issued was to make farmers and orange grovers install meters on their irrigation pumps. No problem there, but the follow on was his attempt to make farms and groves in only selected counties pay a water tax on the water they drew from both ground and lake sources. This would have forced the farmers and growers from the selected counties to compete in the open market against those who did not have to pay the water tax! Give Jeb a F- in Econ 101.

The guy is totally incompetent.
