Parallels Question: Can I Run Two Instances of the Same VM Simultaneously?

I have a WinXP VM running in Parallels. Is it possible to launch another instance of the same machine?

If not, I also have Fusion, which I use on a different Mac. Can I run Fusion and Parallels simultaneously on the same computer?

No.

Edit: P.S. Why do you want/need to do this?

No.

I'm transferring data from one program to another, and it's nice to have both open side-by-side. I have spanned the WinXP window across from my iMac to a 20" Dell monitor, so I can, but it's still a bit clunky. Just an idle whim, really, not really a necessity.

Can you have two separate VMs running in Parallels, rather than two instances of the same VM? E.g. a Win7 and WinXP?

Yes.

Keep in mind that you will be sharing RAM, CPU, and hard disk access between three (2 VMs + Host) computers. Expect two VMs to be noticeably slower than running one.

I regularly run 2 VMs in Parallels at the same time. I've launched I think four at one point. Not something I'd do all day but it worked in a pinch.
