Standard Apple Care does not offer as strong a warranty as AC plus (which includes water damage), but it's still very good. For example, it includes full telephone tech support, and a free advanced replacement (which is $30 value alone if you need to have your phone repaired and don't have an Apple Store nearby).

$40 seems a good deal, I just ordered two because my wife's iPhone has a sticky power button and my son's iPhone has a strange speaker from time to time. As far as I'm concerned, a single repair pays for the AC; and not needing it is even better!

Does the iPhone AC work like all other Acs? I mean, can you get it as long as it's within the year of purchase? Wasn't there something about making that purchase within 30 days? Perhaps that was for the AC Plus...

AC plus is only available within the first 30 days, correct.

AC can be purchased over the phone from Apple from day 31-365.

I do not see any standard Apple Care for iPhone at the Apple Store.
