Microsoft launches outlook.com to succeed Hotmail

5:49 AM ET, 02/19/2013 - MarketWatch Pulse News Bullet

TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) -- Microsoft Corp., the Redmond, Wash., software major, said on Tuesday that it officially launched outlook.com, its new e-mail service, and would begin migrating users of the Hotmail service to the new platform. For Hotmail users, Microsoft said, nothing will change: They will keep their Hotmail e-mail addresses, passwords and contacts. What they will get is "a fresh and intuitive user interface, lots of new features and better performance," the company said in a statement. Some 60 million people have started using outlook.com since it was released in preview last summer, Microsoft said.

Now that MS has had 6 months to knock all the kinks and bugs out I'll have to start using the one I snagged last July.
