For those who don't live in the area, the lake freezing is important because that cuts down on the amount of open water which makes the incredible lake effect snowstorms possible.

In short, lake freezing=good thing.

Nice sequence. Our nearby Great Lake rarely freezes over. I think the last time was in '77 and it may have frozen over in '50.



Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

Ocean effect snow isn't exactly rare either.
Any one who pays attention to national news would be aware of either.


Shame that fast spurt of growth happens so fast and in the dark.
