Some STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS speculation

An interesting twist developing re/Robert April's appearance in the INTO DARKNESS prequel comic:

[trekmovie.com]

Confronting Kirk, April says, "If you're really the captain of the ENTERPRISE now, how's my ship doing?", to which Kirk says, "April's ship was decommissioned two years ago. I got the new one."

I always read too much into these things, but this could lead to the surprise cameo of the century, eh? After the new ENTERPRISE is destroyed (I think that's what we're seeing in the previews, though it may be a dream sequence), Kirk & Co have no choice but to pull the old ship out of mothballs -- and it's Matt Jeffries' ENTERPRISE (maybe with a Gake Koerner twist) [www.youtube.com]

(I'm starting to get onboard with the belief that Peter Weller is playing Robert April. I'm staying out of the whole Cumberbatch/Khan discussion.)

Truly, I am not looking forward to this. JJ Abrams has messed up the franchise so badly that I shudder to think what we will have next... Carol Marcus screaming? Khan as a white guy? etc.

This isn't real Star Trek, it's a Star Trek-themed action movie.

Ricardo Montleban was a white guy... playing an asian/indian. You want to mix things up, have an asian/indian play Khan!

I'll go along with that. And I believe Abrams is better suited for the STAR WARS franchise than the TREK one.

I heard that the guy who plays Spock isn't really half-Vulcan.

Wish someone would continue the Star Trek franchise somehow.

Actually if you read the link, you saw that he was only born in Mexico; his parents were Spanish. Ergo, Khan was a Spaniard. smiling bouncing smiley
