How hot is too hot for a G4 cpu?

I have a MDD single cpu that I've accelerated to 1.5Ghz. The tower sits in a cubby hole of my computer desk with the door usually closed. It has three hard drives and a second optical drive. Most of the time it runs in the low to mid 30's celsius but will range from upper 20's to low 40's throughout a typical day in the summer. Yesterday the inside of our house got into the low 80's (I'm cheap and only run the airconditioner when it gets above the low 80's) and I noticed the temperature was 51 degrees celsius (122 degrees fahrenheit). I opened up the cubby door and the temperature dropped a few degrees and slowly kept dropping as the room cooled. Should I be concerned about the cpu occasionally warming the high 40's and hitting 50 degrees celsius? I could open the door more and have a fan blow on it if I need to, but it would be inconvenient. Thanks.

I know the CPU should be good to about 55 C, it might be higher. But at that point you are reaching the operating temperature limit for most hard drives which usually are spec'd to 55 or 60 C. Your computer desk cubby either needs more ventilation for the warmer days, or you should just leave the door open while your G4 is running. But otherwise you should be fine as long as the peak does not got above those high 40's or low 50's. You can also monitor the disk temperatures if they have sensors using Temperature Monitor or another program.

Thanks JoeH, that's just the information I needed.
