Seagate 750gb PATA $99 + tax + ship Fry's

Pretty good deal - especially for people like me that have a lot of places to put PATA drives (old macs, old enclosures, etc.)

[shop3.frys.com]

Won't last long.

$99 + tax + ship was $113 for me. Not smoking but pretty good, IMO.

Taken from firewire? It comes in an external FW case? Was it hard to get out of there?

Thanks!
I'm in need of such a drive . . . do you think large PATA drives are going away?

That's probably a better deal then the Maxtor 500 gig external that Fry's had for $99. Drop this into a OWC Neptune case and you've got a 750 gig drive for about $150.

I saw it on DM and ordered me one. I'd been waiting for about this price point. I have a couple great IDE FW/USB cases from OWC. I'll just kick out the old 300gb drive and use it when needed (rarely) with my cheesy USB adapter and pop the 750 into the case. Yippee!

You saw it on digital media? Wouldn't a hard drive be considered digital media itself?
