The Police & Elvis Costello

Great concert Monday night. The 1st time that I saw The Police was at the US Festival in 1982. Saw them last year here in Denver. It was great to see them at Red Rocks.

Was anyone else here at both US Festivals or either one? How about the Cal Jam in 1974?

Here are some links to some of my concert photos. I still have a ton more to upload.

Awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing.

It looks like Sting got time to shave sometime *during* the concert (I'm guessing before the encore).

I saw The Police in a stadium tour in 1983 or 84. It was OK, but it was a stadium concert, which sucks in general.

I did see Elvis a few years ago and he rocked the house! It was amazing. It was probably 2005 but it felt like 1985. He was really on his game.

Aah, okay. I was wondering about that....I've heard of wardrobe changes before an encore, but shaving? (Though I wouldn't have held it past King Sting to do something like that.)

Love Elvis

The last time I saw him it was just him on guitar and Steve Nieve on keyboards

I would call it "semi-unplugged" ... well as unplugged as those two could be.

Very civilized venue in Indy that seats a few thousand theater style and they have a bar in the lobby
and drinks were allowed in the theater. Quite a nice change from the area or smokey club.

Who we gonna get to see next ?

I went to the US Festival in 83. Pretty excellent three days!

Hear hear! I will *always* refer to that place as Pine Knob. To hell with DTE Energy!

First time I saw Elvis & the Attractions was when he was touring the US for My Aim Is True.

The concert was in the Millikan High School Auditorium, which seats about 650 people, we sat front row in the balcony, and watched the triple bill of Elvis, Nick Lowe & Rockpile, and Mink Deville! The concert was easily 6 hours long!!

Aloha, Ken

“The afternoon morphed into a cartoon-like surf dream. The late sun fortified the greens of the already awe-inspiring mountainous backdrop, spinner dolphins twirled and leapt outside the line-up, rainbows arced across multiple parts of the sky, while lefts wrapped around the reef and the magic of Tahiti pulsed in a breathtaking three-dimensional display.” - Liz Clark [www.wetsand.com]

“I have developed significant attachments to several members even though I wouldn't recognize them if I sat next to one on a park bench. I'm often tempted when in an airport to walk around, hollering "The Løpe", to see if anyone other than the Homeland Security people will acknowledge me. ” - The Løpe

I saw Elvis at as the opener for Dylan not too long ago. He really has a great talent and is a great entertainer, but all the political bu!!$h!t that he spews really took all the fun out of it. Most of the audience was glad when he was done. (of course that meant Dylan was coming onstage)

Saw the Police last year in Vegas (STF for my postings). Fantastic, but ya know what?...Sting's son's band, Fiction Plane, really stole the show for me. It was like witnessing the Police in their heydey. LOVE them. Joe Sumner on stage is amazing.

Saw Fiction Plane in Vegas & in LA & at the Viper Room (saw Sting there too & Trudi Styler said hello to me). Who could ask for more!!!

How was Dylan? I know that my wife was disappointed when she went to the concert at Red Rocks last summer. Guess that Dylan was having an off night.

I always look forward to seeing Stewart Copeland. Like to watch & listen to him play the drums.
