Just back from a week of travel, away from my MacPro, and using my MacBook Air. Man, did I miss two things that I'd just forgotten about: 1. Pages 7.3 (5989) customized templates 2. OS X 10.14.2 customized dictionary (the "Learn Spelling" feature that shows up in a Control-click) I've been searching forums for the location of both, but either the answers are from older versby tuqqer - Tips and Deals

If Tim asked me, I'd simply tell him I don't know any logical reason to upgrade from the 6S. "More speed" was always what I was after since I started computing in the early 90s. Once SSDs arrived, I've been pretty much satisfied. I am excited to see if/when a new Mac Pro comes out. I'd like to see if video compiling is a lot faster. That could make me open my wallet.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
His cooking eggs at the end showed just what condition that last bottle of 2,000,000 Scoville units had on him; they were a runny mess but Gordon couldn't care, he was in that much pain. I've never done super hot sauces like that, i've often wondered how far I could make it on that show.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals

This is an Google docs sheet I found online that contains links to all of the aerial screensaver videos that you see when you’re using Apple TV. Not sure of the uses, but some are just gorgeous to watch.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
MacBook Air. Any of them. The SSD was the technological invention I'd been waiting for since I first waited a minute for an app to open and 2 minutes for a Mac to start up.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
QuoteRAMd®d I May Be The Last To Know™ POMTL! I immediately thought of you, Tuqq, when I saw this, without seeing your name. It really cracked me up seeing the ™. Hey, I need to protect my trademarks, man. A Man's Gotta Eat™by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
That was my immediate thought: how many OS X versions has THAT been a part of? I'm using Mojave, so it's obviously on that, but not clear how far back it goes. Quotegabester Whoa... I didn't know either. What OS version is that?by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
This one blew my mind. Best explained by this guy's great video, at the 5:57 point: Essentially, an extremely hidden feature that allows you to add any/all/none boolean conditions to any instant or Saved searches. I think Saved Searches are one of the best and least utilized features of Finder, and this now makes them even more powerful.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals

None really. Paypal is a lot faster. The only advantage is that not everyone is on Paypal. And there are no fees associated with Zelle. But I agree, I prefer Paypal-to-Paypal. QuotePeterW And Zelle’s advantage over a PayPal is what? Just that it isn’t Paypal?by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
Zelle is the reason why cryptocurrency was invented. Pure frustration. (not a superfan of crypto, I just get the impulse to create an alternative, and I hope they succeed). I use Zelle every week, and usually successful. But it's still a pain in the ass, because it sometimes doesn't work until it does.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
Glad to hear this is a mess bigger than our experience. It'd been awhile since I had to deal with multiple iCloud accounts, and I remember going through this myself years back.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
Anyone ever seen this one? I helped a friend set up a new iCloud account for his brand new MacBook Air (Mojave), since his first one was a mess (long story). But we're getting this "This is not your primary iCloud account" message when we add it to the Internet Accounts, and really weird, when we add it to is Mail (Preferences: Accounts), it keeps *unchecking" the "Enaby tuqqer - Tips and Deals

Quotespace-time QuoteWags QuoteDeusxMac At numerous locations in the Australian Outback they post signs using the color of your pee as your hydration indicator: clear to slight yellow tinge - you’re OK, progressively more dehydrated the yellower it gets. That seems like a good, specific-to-the-individual-and-circumstances rule-of-thumb. That’s good advice, unless you’re taking vit B.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
Nice setup, jdc. Thanks for posting that.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
I have early memories even at around 11 of getting restless legs syndrome, and as adult, I'm still prone to it. The only solution I've ever found was to consciously drink around 5 quarts of water a day. For me, this requires a separate "hydration jug" which I fill early morning and then make sure it's empty by 8pm. Oh man, I suffer if I get lazy. My legs shake like they've got engines iby tuqqer - Tips and Deals
I'd probably agree. But I still want to try it out at least one time. jdc, if you can, please share your set up, would love to see what it looks like. Quotejdc I just cant do the single screen. My 3 screens are 70" wide.by tuqqer - Tips and Deals

It's been 10 years since I even owned a DVD, or had a DVD player. But I now have an ancient protected DVD that I want to rip to my Mojave Mac, and wondering how to do it. I actually had to purchase a DVD player since there was nary a one in my house. Lifehacker has an article here from 2015 on how to do this with Handbrake. Does anyone have experience if it'll work with Mojave?by tuqqer - Tips and Deals
