I tried to explain to him that this does nothing, but he thinks he gets slightly better gas mileage. Any enclosed fixture will reduce the lifespan of a bulb, CFL or LED because the heat cannot escape and will eventually breakdown the components. Of course how much is the question I don't have an answer to. Maybe look for ones specifically designed for "Recessed" or "enclosed" fixtures. But without Xeons there won't be any dual processor configs, and without dual processor configs there is no immediate advantage over the processing power available in an iMac or MacMini. The challenge is always to offer a computer in an entirely different class than the iMac yet still have it be somewhat affordable to get on board for people who think they need it.
