Back in the early '80s, I was driving home and approached a crossing similar to what you described. Traffic was backed up, and as we got to the crossing, a few hundred people were standing around an overturned vehicle that had a crushed roof. The next big thing I would like to see is a personal force field strong enough to repel all the creepy crawlies that i encounter daily. It would be so great to not have bugs stinging, biting, crawling on my skin, or flying into my eyes (damn you, gnats!!). Something I can carry in my pocket or clip onto my shirt.
