Quotejdc External would be far easier and cheaper. Not sure how you equate copying "large" (define large?) files to an external drive vs internal drives = potential corruption. External drives add a layer complexity that causes the risk of corruption to be higher. With large files any hickup will trash the entire file. The server model is the only one with 2 drives from the factory. Otherwise they can be added later but it isn't as simple as opening a cover and adding a drive. The mini needs to be disassembled.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

Could be anything. First step is to determine if it is software or hardware. Put a clean(Clean fresh, run software updates. Migrate nothing, install no extra hacks, drivers, toolbars, etc.) OS install on it on a known good drive and see if it freezes from there.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

I will always open and destroy the platers, and buy new cheap drives. Have you ever heard of anyone sending a hard drive in for a warranty replacement and their private information being stolen?
