I'm more interested in recent history, say going back 1,000 years or less, of how my family migrated to certain parts of X country and how people in parts of Y Country share similar enough DNA to be plausibly related to me. So, migratory patterns are of more interest to me.

depends on where you live for the variety of activities (and/or how much driving is involved). at 6 yrs, that is really young to be out overnight, if that is what you were referring to. I'd opt for day camp and vary it up from week to week. some camps last two weeks. my kids do a variety of things like tennis, soccer, arts, plays, music, etc. but it's all within a short drive of each other

Crazy quality, if all that pans out well. OTOH, if you just need great home quality video, there are certainly other sources for DSLRs that will/can be hacked for cheap. I hacked my first gen Lumix GH1 and the video is more than good for home video quality, and I can use old legacy glass and still have metering. If you only have about $450, you can pick up a GH1 body and do the hack

I used DB, but dropped it as it became annoying. I have the external drive all ready to go with my latest backup but I'm looking for any hints of the best method to go about it - doesn't have to be the easiest way, but the safest and most secure way to save the data.

I have to fix a firmware issue in my hybrid drive and must back up from the latest TM. Hints? Suggestions? I'm still on 10.6 on this particular machine, and have the 10.6 disc.
