Spring is on the way!

That's optimistic. Seed starting doesn't start for at least a month.

We got another 6" of snow last night up this way. I plowed for a couple of hours this morning.

DP, Black is right. You're optimistic! :-)

A ways back when I used to travel a lot on business I was in the Miami area (Kendall) in early February. I left the cold North and there was a cold snap-60ยบ-in south Florida but I got to my hotel, threw on my swimsuit and went to the pool. It was sunny with no wind so to me it was heaven. But what comes walking by? A woman in a fur coat with a kid in tow wearing a snow suit complete with the hood tied tight to the kid's head.

Yeah, we can always tell who the tourists are. We went over to Tampa this past weekend to see a comedian (John Pinette) and celebrate my birthday. On Sunday morning, it was 53 degrees. We had to walk by the pool to get to the restaurant next door for brunch. My wife and I were wearing jeans and sweatshirts. But there were people lying by the pool in bathing suits, and several people in the pool. IN THE POOL! It was 53 degrees outside! I'm sure the pool was heated, but still.

Blinding Pasty white is usually a pretty good giveaway, too. :-)

First time I went to Miami from Boston in January I was surprised to see they even owned Winter clothes let alone wear them. Bundled up like Eskimos when it was a roasty 55 degrees outside !!!!!! :-)

Not until the Robins show up. I'd say until the Canadian Geese come back, but some of those flying pigs have gotten lazy and decided not to migrate.

Saw a few bunches of them geese still heading south at Baby Buzz's games last weekend. The school field is on the geese's flyway here in LA, and we usually get a whole lot more than we've seen this year. Woulda shot 'em w/ the SX40, but was feeling pretty crappy while watching the game, and then it got worse afterward. Am hoping to get more opportunities over the next few weeks for the SX40 to catch some shots of them; whichever direction they're going... a few years ago, on their way back north, there were a couple of days when the skies over the field were full of geese, and then a bunch of old military planes went on a joy ride from the local airport a few miles east of the flyway, and the sight of the old planes and geese duking it out up the the sky when the the planes turned west, was something out of a surreal movie scene. Didn't think about the geese getting lazy, actually thought it was more about how mild or bad the winter was each year; but lazy works, too.
