NYT executive editor bumped as commencement speaker at Barnard
#1
Jill Abramson, executive editor of the New York Times, was scheduled to be the commencement speaker at Barnard, the women's college connected with Columbia University. Last week the college uninvited her--they got an offer from a bigger name.

Abramson says she is happy to speak at Barnard at a later date.

I think I could handle being bumped for the President of the United States. :-)

It almost feels like the olden days when one treated our nation's highest office-holder with deference.
