I was trying to get one locally for a client today---There are no new 21.5 iMacs in all Sacramento.
I was able to order one from PowerMax.com. They were great and even discounted it slightly and still no sales tax in CA.
My client does not want refurb, even though, I strongly encouraged it. All in all considering SalesTax, this was a better deal. Thank you for the heads up.

If stock is drying up that quickly, I'm even more happy about my ebay purchase of a used 2011 21.5" i5 2.5 for about $850 shipped. Great condition, and 2 years of AppleCare left on it at that price :-) Maybe I should sell it for $1000+ and buy one of the new iMacs.

Yeah, I ordered a refurb last week when they still had some 21.5 early 2011 iMacs still in stock. Glad I snagged it when I did. Should be here tomorrow. Too bad I'm out of town. =(
Good news is I'm the only Mac person at work, so no one will want anything to do with it. Should be safe until i get back. =)
