iPhone 5S to be Apple’s ‘most successful launch ever’
#11
set up a new HP laptop for a client today.

it has a fingerprint reader in front of the keyboard. you can't really tell what it is.

it's the little horizontal thing below the number pad on the right.

Sliding to unlock is perfectly fine.

And fingerprint accessibility is even perfectly finer.

I use a pin code and my phone locks one minute after idle. Every time I want to use it, I push, swipe, PIN then select.

With a fingerprint reader, I could have the security of PIN (far better, I hope) with the convenience of no PIN, no swipe.

HP laptops have had that fingerprint scanner/reader for some time. I've never used it, but I've wondered how accurate it is. I wish it had been set up because password entry was really tedious.

And it makes sense that using it would be optional, just as using a four digit password is optional, as is a more complex password.

If a swipe is fine for you, great. The last thing you need to do is worry about what's fine for anybody else.
