.....saw it on TV last night at least 2-3 times....features 'bulbs'.....in case you haven't seen it yet......

Apple Releases New 'Bulbs' MacBook Pro Ad Highlighting Touch Bar

....Apple today uploaded a new MacBook Pro ad to its YouTube channel, showcasing the machine's Touch Bar and comparing it to major inventions throughout time.

Called "Bulbs," the ad features hundreds of exploding lightbulbs alongside brief glimpses of world-changing innovations, starting with fire and running through tilling, blacksmithing, trains, flight, the telephone, the typewriter, toilet paper, the microwave, the television, the freezer, cameras, computers, robotics, and space flight before finishing with a glimpse of the new MacBook Pro.

The ad ends with the lines "Ideas push the world forward" and "Introducing a tool for all the ideas to come" as a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is displayed. In line with the rest of the ad, an image of a lightbulb is briefly shown on the MacBook Pro's screen before being exploded and unexploded via a quick gesture on the Touch Bar.

Introduced in October, the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar began arriving in the hands of customers earlier this week and is now available for purchase in some Apple retail stores.

The new MacBook Pro features the first major redesign to the MacBook Pro in four years. It includes a new Touch Bar, Skylake processors, a thinner, smaller body, a larger trackpad, a new keyboard, and more.

this is what's Gnu..............?!

May be great but I doubt it ranks up there with a lot of the other inventions.

It maybe innovation, but it's not peanut butter and jelly in the same jar level of innovation.

actually what Apple's pushing is more like PB&J in a jar.
What if you like more or less jelly ?
or another flavor of jelly beyond Apple's choice.
or god forbid - fluff
or whole bananas or raisins

we want choices !!!!!

Sorry. Apple has decided you don't need choice.

Direct link to MacBook Pro – Bulbs – Apple

Edit: It looks more like they are imploding people's chance to have ideas with their commodity products. I wonder if all the bulbs shattering was CGI or did they really crush thousands of bulbs and spread broken glass over all that scenery....

I have no comment on the new Macbook Pro, either for or against, but that was ONE HELL OF A COMMERCIAL!
I was more impressed with the commercial than I was with the Macbook/Touchbar. THAT was sort of underwhelming.

Maybe the commercial was already in the can waiting for an innovation to slap it on. I did enjoy the commercial though. Thankfully, they skipped a "sliced bread" reference. Unless I missed it.

Filmed x real bulbs exploding on a set, then copy-pasted into the scenery is my bet. There is a certain uniformity to the shattering and smoke in the distant shots.
