I have an Oral-B Pro 1000.
I don't see how spending any more money would get you something better.
We bought the same one when it was on sale on amazon. No bells or whistles. Just a gentle vibration when two minutes are up. Works perfectly and got three for the price of a "fancy" one.

Thanks everyone for opinions.
I do "get" that some people really seem to like Sonicare over Oral-B, but I'm also noticing that the Sonicares tend to run higher than Oral-B. I'm also noticing that Oral-B is having a pretty steep sale on their website for various models, so I might go with one of those. Lastly, I'd actually forgotten that I've got a hygienist appointment this coming Tuesday, so I may ask her when I see her.

Had a Gen1 Sonicare when it first came out 20 years ago with the PITA screw-on brushhead. When it died after 10 years I switched to Oral-B. Just recently switched back to a modern Sonicare with the click-on brushhead. So having experience with both brands over 20 years, I think I'm qualified to say that Sonicare is my preferred brand.
