Play PC games on your Mac
#1
A new service from Steam, Steam Link allows you to play PC games on your Mac, provided you have a PC that can already play the game on your network.
If I had that, why would I want to stream it to my Mac? It would be easier to just play it on the PC. Jeez...another useless product looking for a market.

I don't want to voluntarily work with my household's Windows box. It's in the basement for a good reason.

This would enable me to play any Steam game anywhere in my house using my Mac laptops.

It's a nice idea, if it works.

They have the same thing for playstation and xbox, but I'm not sure many people use it. Like Richorlin said, why play it crappily when you can play it well on the machine you already have. I don't think many will find that worth the trouble.

Steam Link (hardware) was introduced for Windows back in 2015, and the Steam Link (hardware) was discontinued in 2018 in favor of the software version built into the Steam client software. It doesn’t work that well over WiFi - you really want to play over Ethernet. The Mac client may be new, but the Windows version is not. I don’t think the Mac version will be of much interest IMHO.
