in regards to tracking people surreptitiously, if you have a tag on you that is not paired to your phone the tag sends a notification to your iphone that basically says “hey, are you aware someone is following you?”

This is what I'm wondering. We have 3 kids of driving age with 3 vehicles. Except for lightning cables disappearing from the charging area in the kitchen, the easiest way to rile people up is to leave a key fob in your jacket pocket, backpack or purse. I'm a frequent offender (even though I don't own a purse).

But if only one person can search for it, what's the point? And no, we're not going to share an Apple ID for this. Still trying to recover from hangover effects of doing that for music and app purchases a jillion years ago.
