Locast: good image quality, frustrating GUI
#1
I signed up for Locast and installed the App on my Apple TV. 100% free, you can donate of you want, but you don't have to.

Image quality is on par with other streaming services. pretty good.

the user interface is frustrating. Much worse that ATT TV Now. takes multiple click to change channels, and once you want to change a channel, the current channel stops until you select a new one. With ATT you can still hear and see the old channel in the background.

I will probably try to hook up that YAGI antenna and see what I can get with OTA.

I read that it regularly interrupts for a "donation" while you're watching. That puts me off.

I read that too, after I posted here. I watched for about an hour and I didn’t see it.

As I said, this does not seem like an option for me. I’ll try it for a few more days and then delete the App.

Once you pledge $5 a month they stop nagging you. This is certainly a lot cheaper than getting cable, even if you just sign-up for the local channels.

This is interesting, I might give it a try.
