Apple Two Factor Authentication
#1
How does everyone feel in 2021 about Apple's 2FA implementation? I tried it a couple years ago and it was so confused that I backed off. With multiple Apple devices it was confused about where to ping, and what to accept...so it was going to lock me out. (e.g., It sent a code to an iPad in another location.) And since I have experience with 'elder-support' and being locked out (with Applecare staff telling me 'que sera sera' and that they could do nothing to help) I really hesitate.

A few 'it just works' testimonials will go a long way. Or is it to be avoided?

Just use it. It’s gotten better. And you won’t be hacked

I also have been avoiding it, but I'm getting tired of my phone always asking for my Apple password. I wonder if 2 factor would resolve this.

I've been using it for the last year or so and have had no problems. Using a iPhone, iPad and and a MacMini and when authentication is required it sends a code to both of the devices I wasn't using. I'd say "it just works, " I have had no hiccups or difficulty in using it.

I would not use it at all unless all devices were running the latest OS. Then I might.

It was a very minor pain to get setup...but now it seems like no big deal. Just do it.

I had a problem when I tried to use it years ago, because not all my OSs supported it.

Apple later improve 2FA to support whatever mix of OSs I was using and it worked fine.

Now, it's as transparent as a freshly squeeged window.

I can even respond to a 2FA authorization request on my Watch.

Question... If you are out and about, and you trigger a 2FA with your phone... how do you respond if no other device is at hand?
