(FIXED) New Whirlpool dishwasher - opened before drying cycle was complete. Now won’t finish.

I needed a pan in it so I opened the door and got it. When I shut the door, I assumed the countdown clock (now at 22 minutes) would resume the countdown and finish the cycle, but it just blinks on “22 minutes” and the other lights also blink. The dishes themselves will be fine just to let them dry and cool down on their own, but I don’t know ibis to reset the washer.

Edit: I turned on the 2 or 3 minute “drain” button and that did the trick. But, I was concerned because there was no water to drain and I was concerned about running that feature dry.

Obviously you solved it, but you can also flip the breaker to your dishwasher on and off if it gets really confused. Restarting your router is optional. ;-)

One of those times when the manual comes in handy. On mine, you press the Start button to resume a cycle.

I had to push the start button three seconds to start the two minute drain.

Try running a rinse cycle only.
