Batch OCR PDF documents?
#1
I have about 100 PDF documents I'd like to add OCR to. Normally I use LEADTOOLS but it's a one at a time app and that would take too long. Any suggestions?

Wow. Just learned you can use Preview in Monterey to select text from a bitmap image!

That was an interesting article but didn't mention which utilities could do batch OCR. I checked out the PDFpen website and it appears their Pro version can do it for $129. Spendy but it sounds like a nice app.

In the article they compare the results from multiple services. I wish they were able to tell us which OCR engine is used by each. There are five open source OCR programs. The most popular is Tesseract. I think the prevalence of free OCR engines is why so many apps that sell for a few dollars include OCR.
