On my desktop.
I'd say I have 98% of them turned off. Mostly an annoyance to me.
I have Mail, CCC, Calendar, Messages (only coz my pho is Android), & News (which I almost never use), on.

I use the CCC menu. I don't need the CPU overheard of a notification on top of that. If there's a problem, the CCC icon will blink with an exclamation point.
Otherwise, much the same at work.
At home, I have Mail notifications off.

I use only phone, Mail, Messages, and Calendar notifications, and the last 3 are banners only. Being retired for a number of years, my activities don't generate much from anything else.

I have do not disturb turned on all the time for my iMac. It’s very distracting
